Welcome to Betheden

A House of Peace

We are a full service training facility focusing on Diabetic alert dogs. How they think, how they work, why they work, and how they work with their human partners. We learn everyday.

We are now holding classes here in the Texas Panhandle and also an outreach to the Oklahoma City area. We will still deliver the dog to you if that is your best option. We serve all the USA and Canada

2009 marks our third successful year.
We are able to do this because of the wonderful folks that we train for, great dogs, incredible staff and the good Lord that watches over it all.

My very good friend says this is a God thing and she is so correct.

Cruz and Terry

I met Terry at Wal Mart awhile back and he started asking about a dog for his Diabetes but also he is a Vietnam Vet. with chronic PTSD. I told him that we had never trained a dog to help with that but we would sure give it a try. He has been working with Cruz several times a week and today was the first public access trip for the two. They are an awesome team.

He said he didn’t know how he could ever afford a dog and we told him if he needed a dog we would find a way and we have.

We are donating the dog to him in name of all the veterans that have served our country so well and have kept us the free country that we so enjoy.

We are very excited about this and will give you updates and pictures as this great pair progresses.

Hey Ann,

I can’t begin to thank you enough for Dutchess. The minute i walked into the kennel Dutches was alerting to me. She continues to amaze me and wants to do nothing but to please me. She is such a blessing. Dutchess is a very agressive alerter and continues to wake me in the middle of the night. I was not even aware that i was having lows in the middle of the night. Today was my second day of the fall semester of college and in the middle of algebra she pawed me in class til I tested and sure enough i was 88.It really hit me today after class that i felt this huge weight lifted off me. I realized that I had been letting the fear of what could happen affect me. Now I have my freedom back again to live life like I used to except now I have my best friend with me every where i go. I have been out in public frequently and everyone is just amazed at how well behaved Dutchess is and continually ask if I am the trainer.
I also have to say thank you for all the support over the phone and in person with all my questions. Your family has been so wonderful. This experience is life changing and I just don’t have the words to describe how great things are now that i have Dutchess in my life. With so much Thanks.

Love,
Tarra Robinson

Subject: Alerting
Things are going great with dutchess. She is alerting about 85 percent right now and is getting better each day. I have continued to work with the scent samples daily. She is doing an incredible job. She has had some day alerting at 100 percent. So i have a feeling she will be back there soon. I can’t thank you enough for Dutchess. I feel like she was meant for me. I was so sad to hear that the kennel is closing. I was so angry that people will miss out on the blessing i have now because of a few bad seeds. Your family has been in my prayers.

MY 2 CENTS

MY 2 CENTS  It is time to speak the truth about some things in general

Marybell Westbrook and Adobe Kennels

She testified in court that she had known me 6 years and she indicated that the only connection between us was the church. She made it sound like i went to her out of the blue one day and ask her to teach me to train dogs.

We met them in 2002 when we started going to the church but we rapidly became fast friends.Dale plays the guitar and My huband loves that. Marybell and I shared a love for German Shepherds.

We were the friends that went out to eat together, shared burdens together, what we thought was fast and forever friends.

When their house burned  we were there. I asked Marybell what i could do and she said could I borrow towels. Towels she got.and dishes and everything else i could gather up for them. She lost all her pictures in the fire so I got copies from her daughter,  enlarged and framed them so she would have her family to hang on her walls.

Marybell has a bad perfume allergy. I gathered all the information I could find and gave a talk at church to educate people so she would be safe and could go to church without getting sick.

I loved and trusted her like a sister that I never had.

When I met her in 2002 she was training just pets. I loved helping her and working with the dogs and learning the art of real obedience taining. In 2005 she met Michele with Heaven Scent Paws and got involved with her Diabetic Alert Dog Program

She consigned but never delivered Michele a litter of 2004 puppies and started working with Michele. She help here and there with some problems that Michele was having with a few dogs. Marybell is very good with the dogs.

In the beginning she was only going to obedience train the pups and sell them to Michele for 3000.00. She told us that we could help her.  It didn’t take her long to figure out that she was  not making  enough money since Michele was selling them for DADs She trained a dog for Michele to place as an autistic dog for some people in Searcy Ar. The dogs name was Shane. This was a Tracy pup with an ear down that Marybell had tried to give away without success. She worked about 2 weeks with that dog and Michele placed it.You can see the complaint about that dog on the complaintant list for HSP. Marybell and Dale went back to Searcy and picked up that dog for Michele. If you don’t believe this Mrs keegan go to the HSP web site and look at the news articles then the complaint list. it names the dog  and the news article names Marybell.

In 2005 Marybell started  training diabetic Alert Dogs on her own. Her statement was If Michele can do it so can I  and I agreed. She placed her first DAD in early 2006. His name was Jack and he went to the Bay area in Ca. He was a litter mate to our Allison and they were born Nov 4, 2004. She testified in open court that she had been training DADs for 8 years and that she never placed one that wasn’t 2 to 3 years old. Do the math.

When she asked me to be involved with her and the Diabetic Alert Dogs I jumped at the chance. She said she would teach me everything that she knew and I was in heaven. She gave me phone instructions. Never watched me train at all.

I didn’t realize that she would try to  sabotage what I was doing and I so believed everything that she told me.

I have never done anything but love her. i don’t know why she would attack me so brutally.

These are the facts about Adobe Kennels

Dogs that I got from her. Contract was 1500.00 each when they were sold

Shiloh She told me that shiloh was 80% ready to place. i knew better but still wanted to believe her. i tried to place her but had to go back and get her and take the customer another dog because she would not bond with them. I finally after 2 years of continously  socializing  found her a pet home. I paid 1500.00 for her and gave her away free.

Jaycee Very antisocial but also very aggressive. I have in the last few months rehomed her with a wonderful lady that is willing to give this damaged dog a home. I tried to give her back to Marybell and she said that she didn’t want her because she couldn’t use her.

BenHenry Great dog good social skills but the worst hip dysplasia that my vet had seen. Returned him back to Marybell

Ace  A good dog. and the only one that I got from her that was placeable.

She NEVER watched me train at all.  The lies she is telling are from what she remembers of training tips that she gave me. She has on her web site Adobekennels.com that she never helped me at all learning to train these dogs but yet in open court under oath she gave a detailed account of how she taught me to train dogs. Lies that it was

Dale set up a fundraiser account at the church so my customers could donate through the church.he kept that money. Amounting to about 3500.00. I let it happen because we were members of the church and I placed 2 of the dogs even though I had to go back and get Shiloh. My contract with them was 1500.00 a dog when they were sold. I considered any dogs that I bought from her paid for at that point. It has been 2 and one half years later that they took me to court for payment of these  dogs. We are going to the Baptist Association for help to straighten this mess out. I have undeniable proof of this money going to the church. My attorney just chose not to use it in court But there will be another day.

Just another note I know for a fact that marybell had a female named Tracy that had numerous litters of puppies and every litter had at least one or two that had hip dysplasia. She finally gave her to Tom White without telling him  about her hips.

I helped him last year have her put to sleep because she couldn’t get up and down any more.
